Somewhere between this blog, Facebook, and YouTube searches for "lighting farts on fire", I almost forgot about a little thing called my MySpace profile. The last blog entry before jumping
back on was written just after last year's birthday. While replying to the pages and pages of messages from people i've either met on tour or had bought All up in your mind asking for a refund, I came across this video, sent by homie J. While the song was actually about being stuck in traffic trying to leave Toronto in 100-degree heat and no A/C in the hooptie, a cold morning in lower Manhattan is just as fitting.
I also got a couple of messages from younger folk who said they heard 'Palisades' for the first time on a Deftones blog. Whoa. Thanks Chino!
A couple months ago, I submitted a track for an upcoming compilation put together by my current place of work. Sample clearance was an issue, so I responded by submitting another track composed entirely of royalty-free Logic Studio instruments and loops. The purpose for this was threefold: 1) I got to hand something in; 2) i needed a crash course in Logic (although Pro Tools and I are still friends); and 3) the Logic session should show up soon on one of the demo workstations in the Pro Audio room of the current place of work.
It also took me two nights from start to finish, which may be long for some, but for those who know my creative output, that's like a nanosecond in P-Love years. Perhaps I should post the scrapped original track somewhere.
